For Poisson input and uL=Lλ+CL(1+β)/2 with C>0, clipping occurs with logarithmic probability −C2Lβ/(2λ). At any smaller exponent 0<α<β, this is superexponentially small at speed Lα. Dividing the input and output difference by L(1+α)/2 therefore gives exponential equivalence. More directly, for every threshold rL<uL, the events {min(SL,uL)>rL} and {SL>rL} are identical.
