Nasima Arshad developed teaching material on following a chemical reaction through electrical conductance. In the ester–hydroxide example, replacement of hydroxide by acetate changes the ionic contribution to the signal; platinum electrodes and an alternating-voltage bridge provide the measurement.[ref]
