For a velocity Fourier mode with wavenumber k, define a=ηk2, d=a2+Ω2 and C=i(B0⋅k)u^. A cosine-forced mode has periodic response coefficients (p,q)=(aC,ΩC)/d, while a sine-forced mode has (−ΩC,aC)/d. Homogeneous transients decay as e−at. The periodic response is a particular solution, not arbitrary initial data.
