The relevant projection is the disk x2+y2≤9. The surface area of a graph is ∬1+zx2+zy2dxdy. Here zx=−2x and zy=−2y, so polar coordinates give
A=2π∫03r1+4r2dr=6π[(1+4r2)3/2]03=6π(3737−1).
