For a negative energy write E=−ℏ2λ2/(2M), λ>0. Away from the delta interaction the decaying solutions are Ce−λx for x>0 and Ceλx for x<0, with the same C by continuity. The derivative jump is −2λC=−C/Δ, giving λ=1/(2Δ). Thus the bound state in a delta potential has
E=−8MΔ2ℏ2,χ(x)=2Δ1e−∣x∣/(2Δ).
(1)
The normalization follows from ∫Re−2λ∣x∣dx=1/λ. This is a genuine square-integrable negative-energy state.
