Start from I0(λ)=1/λ. Differentiation under the integral sign gives
In′(λ)=−In+1(λ),In(λ)=(−1)ndλndnλ1.
(1)
This interchange is justified locally around any λ>0 by the dominated convergence theorem: the differentiated integrands are bounded by an integrable polynomial times e−λx/2. Successive derivatives of λ−1 give
In(λ)=λn+1n!.
(2)
This is also the integer case of the Gamma function integral after scaling the integration variable.
