Use polar coordinates with 0≤r≤sin2θ and 0≤θ≤π. The Jacobian determinant gives dA=rdrdθ, so the area is
A=∬R1dA=∫0π∫0sin2θrdrdθ=21∫0πsin4θdθ.

The trigonometric identity
sin4θ=83−4cos(2θ)+cos(4θ)
(2)
reduces the integral to its constant term: both cosine terms have zero integral over this interval. Therefore
Area(R)=163π.
