For each spatial normal mode, the temporal equation is Tn′′+ωn2Tn=0, with angular frequency ωn=ckn=cnπ/L. Hence
Tn(t)=Ancos(ωnt)+Bnsin(ωnt).
(1)
The ordinary frequency is ωn/(2π)=cn/(2L); it should not be confused with the angular frequency used in the sine and cosine arguments.
