A model-dependent boundary in spin-period and spin-down parameter space beyond which particle acceleration and pair production cannot maintain a specified radio-emission mechanism. Crossing it means loss of an emission state, not destruction of the neutron star. Selection and beaming obscure an exact empirical universal boundary.
