Rocket propellant

Rocket propellant is the onboard material expelled to produce rocket thrust. A chemical rocket normally carries both fuel and oxidizer; both contribute to its mass and to the expelled material. In the ideal rocket equation, $M(t)=M_{\mathrm{dry}}+M_{\mathrm{propellant}}(t)$, with fixed rocket dry mass and decreasing remaining rocket propellant. ^[ref]
