For roots $\alpha$ and $\beta$, the roots of the form $\beta +n\alpha$ form an unbroken string $\beta -p\alpha ,\dots ,\beta +q\alpha$, and $p-q=⟨\beta ,{\alpha }^{\vee }⟩$.
