American Journal of Physics 84(1), 26–31. Primary mathematical analysis of a rotating potential and its guiding-centre motion.
Author preprint: arxiv.org/abs/1501.03658
The preprint distinguishes a particle in a planar rotating potential from a particle constrained to a rotating surface and from a rolling ball. Its rapid-rotation analysis identifies weak laboratory-frame precession.
