Differentiating RTR=I gives so(3)={A∈M3(R):AT=−A}. The generators Lav=ea×v satisfy [La,Lb]=ϵabcLc by the cross product identity. This identifies it with the SU(2) Lie algebra by matching a skew-Hermitian Pauli basis.
