Spacetime isometry ($f^{\ast }g=g$)

A transformation preserving a spacetime metric tensor. For Minkowski spacetime, the affine transformations with this property form the Poincaré group. A spacetime isometry is a symmetry of particular dynamical equations only if their other fixed structures and couplings are preserved as well.
