On the unit sphere Sn−1, let Dρ be a spherical cap of angular radius 0<ρ<π/2. If sinρ≥1/n, its surface area is at most sn−1sinnρ. This includes ρ≥π/4 for every n≥2. The bound follows by comparing the cap-area derivative with the derivative of sinnρ and checking the two endpoint values.
