If c≤0, Δu+cu=f, and u=ψ on the boundary of a bounded domain inside {∣x1∣<d}, let M=sup∂Ω∣ψ∣ and F=supΩ∣f∣. The nonnegative barrier v=M+(e2d−ex1+d)F satisfies (Δ+c)v≤−F. Apply the weak maximum principle for elliptic operators to u−v and −u−v to get ∥u∥∞≤M+e2dF.
