If a Lévy measure satisfies ∫∣y∣≤1∣y∣K(dy)<∞, the jump integral in the Lévy–Khintchine formula can be written without compensation: EeiuXt=etψ(u), with the displayed exponent. Its integral is absolutely convergent because ∣eiuy−1∣≤∣u∣∣y∣ near zero and is at most 2 elsewhere. If the compensated formula uses drift γ, the uncompensated drift is b=γ−∫∣y∣≤1yK(dy). The Gaussian coefficient is still σ2≥0.
