A normed vector space is uniformly convex if, for each ε>0, there is δ>0 such that unit-ball vectors x,y with ∥x−y∥≥ε satisfy ∥(x+y)/2∥≤1−δ. Completeness is not part of this definition; a complete example is a uniformly convex Banach space.
