The Wallis integrals are In=∫0π/2sinnxdx for integers n≥0. Integration by parts gives nIn=(n−1)In−2 for n≥2, with I0=π/2, I1=1. Hence
I2n=22n(n!)2(2n)!2π,I2n+1=(2n+1)!22n(n!)2.

Because 0<sinx<1 in the integration interval, 0<In<In−1 for n≥1. Combining this with the recurrence gives 2n/(2n+1)<I2n+1/I2n<1, proving that the ratio tends to one and yielding the Wallis product.
