The canonical vorticity two-form is ωab=∇a(ϵub)−∇b(ϵua), with specific enthalpy per particle ϵ. Potential flow ϵua=∇aχ has ω=0 for a torsion-free connection. Contracting this identity with ua yields ϵua∇aub=∇bϵ−ubua∇aϵ, the isentropic relativistic Euler equation in signature (+−−−). This canonical condition does not mean the unweighted four-velocity one-form is closed.
