For independent and identically distributed random variables Xj​ that are integrable random variables, with Sn​=∑j=1n​Xj​, symmetry gives E[X1​∣Sn​,Sn+1​,…]=Sn​/n. The decreasing sigma-algebras generated by these future sums permit application of the reverse martingale convergence theorem.
