A bound E[Bj+1∣Bj]≤f(Bj) implies EBj+1≤Ef(Bj). It does not by itself imply EBj+1≤f(EBj). For f(b)=b2/n, Jensen's inequality goes in the opposite direction. The missing contribution is the variance: E[Bj2]=(EBj)2+Var(Bj).
