The probability that an isotropically oriented circular orbit produces an exoplanet transit, assuming a>R⋆+Rp. Uniformity of ∣cosi∣ gives the displayed result. Orbital eccentricity, a restriction to full rather than grazing crossings, or a non-isotropic orientation distribution changes the expression.
