MIRI's low-resolution spectroscopy includes a slitless time-series mode for exoplanet observations. Its useful coverage includes the 5–12μm region, with longer-wavelength limits dependent on calibration and sensitivity. See the instrument guide.

The Mid-Infrared Instrument (MIRI) is one of the key scientific instruments aboard the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), which was launched on December 25, 2021. MIRI is designed to observe the universe in the mid-infrared spectrum, which ranges from about 5 to 28 micrometers.
