The span U is the coordinate plane {(x1,x2,0,0)T}. Consequently its annihilator of a vector subspace is U∘=span{ε3,ε4}. The dual map is composition with T, so
T′ε3=ε3,T′ε4=0.
(1)
It follows that
T′(U∘)=span{ε3}.
(2)
Equivalently, T′(aε3+bε4) sends x to ax3.
