An ultrarelativistic electron has kinetic energy much larger than its rest energy: (γ−1)mec2≫mec2, equivalently γ≫1. Its speed obeys v/c=1−γ−2≃1−1/(2γ2) and its total energy is approximately pc. At γ=106, E=γmec2≃511 GeV.
