Here sin2x=(1−cos2x)/2 belongs to the image. Matching the two coefficients using L(A+Bcos2x)=Bπ/2+Aπcos2x gives A=−1/(2π), B=1/π. Consequently
y(x)=πcos2x−1/2+z(x),z⊥1,z⊥cos2x.
(1)
There are infinitely many solutions, since any element of the infinite-dimensional kernel may be added.
