Parametrize the straight path by r(t)=(t,t,t) for 0≤t≤1. Then r˙=(1,1,1) and A=(3t2+6t,−14t2,20t3). Thus
∫CA⋅dr=∫01(6t−11t2+20t3)dt=3−311+5=313.

This differs from the preceding path's value. Indeed, ∇×A=(14y,−20z2,−6) is not zero, so the field is not a conservative vector field and its integral need not depend only on endpoints.
