Hermiticity of the Cartesian angular momentum components gives
L+†=L−,L−†=L+.
(1)
The angular momentum commutation relations [Li,Lj]=iℏϵijkLk imply
[L2,L±]=0,[Lz,L±]=±ℏL±.
(2)
For example, [Lz,Lx+iLy]=iℏLy+ℏLx=ℏL+. The two terms in [Lx2+Ly2+Lz2,Li] cancel in pairs, giving the first commutator. Also [L+,L−]=2ℏLz.
