The transmitted-to-incident compressional pressure or normal-stress amplitude ratio. At normal incidence, continuity of normal stress gives tp=1+rp, with pressure-amplitude reflection coefficient rp. The transmitted energy fraction is (Z1/Z2)tp2, not tp2 alone.
