Past exam of the University of Oxford 2026-10-24
Sources held for the University of Oxford, checked on 21 October 2026. Each year range means at least one readable question paper in each listed year, not a complete set of papers or modules. Years follow printed covers where available; archive filenames and the years requested in a freedom-of-information request are not reliable substitutes. Papers shared between degrees are counted as shared papers, not as complete archives for both degrees.
The Bodleian Exam Paper Archive advertises examinations from academic year 1999–2000 onward, with Oxford sign-in required. The list below distinguishes locally held public releases, advertised releases not yet held, and reports without question papers. Courses not mentioned individually below have no verified local question-paper holdings; their presence in the course tree does not establish examination availability.
Solutions: advertised student solutions are sufficient to skip new solutions for the advertised papers or years, even when sign-in is required. Selected answers, specimen solutions and examiner reports do not establish complete coverage. “Unverified” means that availability or exact coverage has not been established, not that answers do not exist. Transcription into the local exam archive is separate from publishing new solutions: the wiki records metadata and does not reproduce examination statements.
- Mathematics course of the University of Oxford, with shared papers for mathematics and statistics course of the University of Oxford, mathematics and computer science course of the University of Oxford and mathematics and philosophy course of the University of Oxford. The department advertises solutions for even-numbered examination years back to at least 2016, plus the exceptional release for 2019. Skip new solutions for those advertised years. The policy does not establish coverage of another department's joint-school papers.
- 2022–2024: Prelims, Part B and Part C papers in Download the combined Mathematics release. Shared OMMS papers are also identified on their covers. This is one release even where duplicate copies were downloaded.
- 2021–2024 and 2019: Part A papers in Download the Part A release.
- 2021–2024 and 2015–2019: Prelims papers in Download the Prelims release. A gap is retained for 2020.
- Older advertised releases: Prelims and historical Mods release, Part A release and older Finals release. Their ZIPs are not locally held, so the requested year ranges are not listed as holdings.
- Deferred while a password is unavailable: Exam papers.7z and Redacted Examiners Reports.7z are held as encrypted archives. Their members have not been read and do not extend the verified year ranges above.
- MSc in mathematical sciences course of the University of Oxford (OMMS). Student-answer coverage of MSc-specific papers is unverified; shared undergraduate papers follow the Mathematics policy where applicable. Specimen solutions are not treated as solutions to every past examination.
- 2025: eight papers in Download the OMMS release.
- 2022–2024: papers explicitly crosslisted for OMMS in the Mathematics release above.
- MSc in mathematical and theoretical physics course of the University of Oxford and the MMathPhys route of the physics course of the University of Oxford. Official public papers and student-only selection of solutions. The advertised selection does not identify complete solution coverage for every paper or year.
- 2025: nine individual written papers held; their editable LaTeX transcriptions compile successfully.
- 2024: eight individual written papers held; their editable LaTeX transcriptions compile successfully.
- 2023: seven individual written papers with unambiguous years held; their editable LaTeX transcriptions compile successfully. A separate Kinetic Theory paper has conflicting printed year information and is left unresolved.
- 2015–2022: some shared papers are present in the Physics combined releases below. Coverage is module-specific. Many older PDF links on the official index currently return HTTP 404, so their listing is not proof of local holdings.
- MSc in mathematical modelling and scientific computing course of the University of Oxford.
- 2020: B1 Numerical Linear Algebra and Numerical Solution of Differential Equations paper. Public solutions to questions 3 and 4 establish partial answer coverage only.
- Computer science course of the University of Oxford, with shared papers for mathematics and computer science course of the University of Oxford and computer science and philosophy course of the University of Oxford. Download the BA papers ZIP, download the first-year release and download the earlier release. Complete worked-solution availability for the undergraduate papers remains unverified. Some historical finals papers have no more specific stage printed on the cover.
- 2021–2023, 2018–2019, 2015–2016, 2005 and 2003: Prelims papers held.
- 2021–2023 and 2015–2019: Part A papers held.
- 2019–2023: Part B papers held.
- 2019–2023 and 2015: additional finals papers held; these are not evidence of a complete separate Part C set.
- Damaged members: the BA release contains three truncated PDFs, named 2014/T/a13756w1.pdf, 2019/T/a16550w1.pdf and 2022/T/a15293w1.pdf. They are excluded from usable holdings and the conversion queue.
- 2010–2024: annual ZIPs advertised in another release, not locally held. These requested/download labels do not fill the gaps above.
- MSc in advanced computer science course of the University of Oxford. The department advertises Sample Solutions through its authenticated teaching site; exact years and completeness remain unverified.
- Physics course of the University of Oxford and shared physics papers of the physics and philosophy course of the University of Oxford. Download the eight combined releases. Their filenames labelled 2014–2021 actually contain papers dated 2015–2022. The file labelled 2019 contains only eight shared papers dated 2020, not the core Physics examinations. The separate 2016–2019 release overlaps these holdings and does not supply solutions.
- 2021–2022 and 2015–2019: core Prelims, Part B and Part C papers held in combined releases; not every paper is guaranteed. The 2022 combined release omits CP1, but a separate individual Prelims release supplies a CP1 paper.
- 2012–2014: further Prelims papers held from the Twain archive and the other Prelims releases, extending the verified Prelims coverage to 2012–2019 and 2021–2022. Download the Cowell archive, the earlier Prelims ZIP and the later Prelims ZIP provide overlapping material.
- 2011–2014 and 2016–2018: selected Part B papers also held from public staff teaching pages. Some 2016 Part A and Part C papers are held individually.
- 2020: shared Mathematics/MMathPhys/OMMS papers held; no core Physics Prelims, Part B or Part C paper has been established from that year's combined source.
- Selected public answers: the advanced quantum mechanics teaching page and the general relativity revision page include solutions or notes for selected advanced quantum theory and relativity papers. Their existence does not establish solutions for all Physics papers. Exact paper coverage should be checked before beginning new solutions.
- Earth sciences (geology) course of the University of Oxford. Download the question-paper ZIP. Separate examiner reports and field guides are held; the latter are supporting teaching material.
- Psychology (experimental) course of the University of Oxford, with some shared psychology, philosophy and linguistics course of the University of Oxford material. Download the question-paper ZIP. Complete worked-solution availability is unverified.
- MSc in social science of the internet course of the University of Oxford. Download the degree examination ZIP. The release also contains non-STEM papers; its title about admission statistics does not make its degree papers admissions tests. Worked-solution availability is unverified.
- MSc in statistical science course of the University of Oxford.
- Chemistry course of the University of Oxford.
- No question papers locally held. An older public release advertises ten ZIPs, covering requested components within 2002–2017; the archives still need downloading and inspection. A newer refusal does not erase that earlier release. Worked-solution availability is unverified.
- Biochemistry (molecular and cellular) course of the University of Oxford.
- No question papers locally held. The checked 2023 response refuses the requested examination papers. Worked-solution availability is unverified.
- Engineering science course of the University of Oxford.
- No question papers locally held. The Prelims handbook, section 8.3, advertises past-paper solutions on MEng Canvas; skip new solutions for papers covered by that advertisement. Its exact years and the availability for Parts A–C remain unverified.
- Materials science course of the University of Oxford.
- No question papers locally held. Historical public examiner reports and the 2024 report release are held as reports, not question papers or worked answers.
- Medicine course of the University of Oxford and medicine (graduate-entry) course of the University of Oxford.
- No complete modern question papers verified locally. First BM and medical-sciences examiner reports and graduate-entry topic lists are held. Neither is treated as a complete paper or a solution set. The checked Second BM request was refused.
- 1864–1867: Download the historical Bachelor of Medicine examination volume. Its 46 individual papers have been separated from blank pages, library matter and administrative timetables. These historical papers are distinct from the modern medical course; worked-answer availability is unverified.
- MSc in environmental change and policy course of the University of Oxford, formerly Environmental Change and Management.
- Academic years 2021–2022, 2020–2021 and 2019–2020: Download the examiner-report ZIP. These are examiner reports only; no question papers or worked answers verified locally.
The conversion archive initially inventoried 947 examination PDF renditions, including split combined releases, recovered scans and examination attachments. Verified duplicate or inferior copies are consolidated while retaining their original source provenance. Separate sittings, genuinely different question sets and substantive revisions remain distinct; complementary damaged copies are retained when no complete original exists. Tutorial notes, mock and specimen papers, collections, mini-projects and unclassifiable Mathematics papers are excluded from the transcription queue. The retained inputs have editable LaTeX transcriptions. Each input records its source URL, source hash and original page range where applicable. The two password-protected Mathematics archives are deferred, and unreadable source material remains an explicit TODO unless an intact counterpart supplies the missing content. Original Oxford solutions are organized under the corresponding courses below, with reusable concept links. Question statements remain in the external source archive. Explicit TODOs identify source material that could not be recovered.
