If (U,V) is C-relevant to (X,Y) and U1​,U2​,V1​,V2​ are mutually independent copies, then (U1​+U2​,V1​+V2​) is 2C-relevant to (X,Y). The entropy submodularity for three independent sums implies
dR​(U1​+U2​;X)≤21​(2dR​(U;X)+dR​(U;U)),

and similarly for V. The Entropic Ruzsa triangle inequality bounds
dR​(U;U)≤2dR​(U;X),dR​(V;V)≤2dR​(V;Y),

which proves the claim after addition.
