For rate-α exponential distribution claims and c>λ/α, the ruin integro-differential equation reduces to ψ′′+(α−λ/c)ψ′=0. Differentiate the convolution and use its equation A′=αψ−αA to eliminate it. Positive relative safety loading implies ψ(u)→0 as u→∞, and the zero-capital survival probability gives ψ(0)=λ/(αc). These two conditions determine the displayed solution. The adjustment coefficient is α−λ/c.
