Write the axial current density as j(r)=Kr. Normalize it using the total electric current:
I=∫0aKr2πrdr=32πKa3,K=2πa33I.
(1)
The enclosed electric current at radius r is Ienc(r)=2πKr3/3=I(r/a)3. The magnetostatic Ampère law now yields
B(r)=2πa3μ0Ir2(0≤r≤a).
(2)
Both profiles join the exterior magnetic flux density μ0I/(2πa) at the surface, but the second vanishes quadratically at the axis because less electric current is concentrated near it.
