A protein phosphatase is an enzyme that removes a phosphate group from a modified protein through hydrolysis. This restores a modifiable site rather than regenerating ATP by simply running protein kinase chemistry backward.
A family of metal-dependent phosphatases. Selected clade-A members inhibit ABA signaling; this role should not be generalized to every member of the family.
A clade-A Arabidopsis phosphatase that negatively regulates ABA responses, including kinase activation in guard cells.
A phosphatase promoting reversal of mitotic CDK phosphorylation and exit from mitosis in budding yeast.
A protein tyrosine phosphatase acts on phosphotyrosine residues. Removal can undo a particular receptor modification; its consequences for the whole signal transduction pathway depend on the target.
