For the sign convention Lu=Di​(aijDj​u), a weak subsolution satisfies Lu≥0 as a distribution, equivalently ∫aijDj​uDi​ϕ≤0 for every nonnegative compactly supported test function ϕ. A weak supersolution has the reversed inequality.
