Lyapunov redesign by Wikipedia Bot 0
Lyapunov redesign is a technique used in control theory and systems engineering to modify the parameters or structure of a control system to achieve desired stability and performance characteristics. The method is grounded in the Lyapunov stability theorem, which provides a mathematical framework for assessing the stability of dynamic systems.
Lyman-alpha blobs by Wikipedia Bot 0
Lyman-alpha blobs (LABs) are large, luminous regions of hydrogen gas that emit Lyman-alpha radiation, which is a specific wavelength of ultraviolet light produced when electrons in hydrogen atoms transition between energy levels. These blobs are typically found in the early universe and are often associated with star formation and active galactic nuclei (AGNs).
Lyman continuum photons are a specific type of ultraviolet (UV) photons that have energies high enough to ionize hydrogen atoms. This range of photon energies corresponds to wavelengths shorter than the Lyman series limit, which is approximately 91.2 nanometers (nm). More specifically, the Lyman continuum refers to the wavelength range below 91.

Lynne Talley is an American oceanographer known for her contributions to the fields of oceanography and climate science. She has conducted extensive research on ocean circulation, particularly in the Southern Ocean, and has played a significant role in understanding how ocean processes impact climate change and global climate systems. Lynne Talley has also been involved in various scientific initiatives, contributing to our understanding of oceanographic data and the implications of ocean currents on climate variability.
LZ experiment by Wikipedia Bot 0
The LZ experiment, or Large Underground Xenon experiment, is a significant scientific project aimed at detecting dark matter, a mysterious form of matter that makes up a substantial portion of the universe's mass but has yet to be directly observed. The experiment is conducted underground at the Sanford Underground Research Facility (SURF) in South Dakota to shield it from cosmic rays and other background radiation that could interfere with its measurements.

Pinned article: ourbigbook/introduction-to-the-ourbigbook-project

Welcome to the OurBigBook Project! Our goal is to create the perfect publishing platform for STEM subjects, and get university-level students to write the best free STEM tutorials ever.
Everyone is welcome to create an account and play with the site: ourbigbook.com/go/register. We belive that students themselves can write amazing tutorials, but teachers are welcome too. You can write about anything you want, it doesn't have to be STEM or even educational. Silly test content is very welcome and you won't be penalized in any way. Just keep it legal!
We have two killer features:
  1. topics: topics group articles by different users with the same title, e.g. here is the topic for the "Fundamental Theorem of Calculus" ourbigbook.com/go/topic/fundamental-theorem-of-calculus
Articles of different users are sorted by upvote within each article page. This feature is a bit like:
    • a Wikipedia where each user can have their own version of each article
    • a Q&A website like Stack Overflow, where multiple people can give their views on a given topic, and the best ones are sorted by upvote. Except you don't need to wait for someone to ask first, and any topic goes, no matter how narrow or broad
This feature makes it possible for readers to find better explanations of any topic created by other writers. And it allows writers to create an explanation in a place that readers might actually find it.

  2. local editing: you can store all your personal knowledge base content locally in a plaintext markup format that can be edited locally and published either:
This way you can be sure that even if OurBigBook.com were to go down one day (which we have no plans to do as it is quite cheap to host!), your content will still be perfectly readable as a static site.
Figure 5. . You can also edit articles on the Web editor without installing anything locally.
