A layer of impedance Z1, wavenumber k1, and thickness L between identical media of impedance Z0 has pressure-amplitude transmission coefficient
∣T∣=[cos2(k1L)+41(Z0Z1+Z1Z0)2sin2(k1L)]−1/2.
(1)
It transmits perfectly at the layer resonances k1L=nπ, irrespective of the impedance mismatch.
