Authored lecture notes, dated 9 July 2015 on the title page. Section 4.2 covers the vector ferromagnet; §4.3, printed pp.10–13, develops the nematic tensor, rotational invariants and discontinuous transition. The tensor and coefficient normalization differs from S=Q(3nnT−I) and must be translated explicitly.
