The real vector space of traceless skew-Hermitian matrices of size two is the Lie algebra su(2). For the basis M1=21diag(i,−i), M2=21(0−110), M3=21(0ii0), cyclic commutators satisfy [M1,M2]=M3. The map a↦∑ajMj carries the cross product to the commutator. Every target is a single commutator: choose a unit vector perpendicular to its associated vector c and use u×(c×u)=c.
