The unified atomic mass unit and dalton are names for the same mass unit:
1u=1Da=12ma(12C),
(1)
where the carbon-12 chemical atom is free, at rest, and in its nuclear and electronic ground state. Its conversion to SI mass units is determined experimentally. See The International System of Units (SI), ninth edition, SI Brochure (Table 8, footnote (f), printed p. 146: dalton and unified atomic mass unit).

The dalton (symbol: Da) is a unit of mass used primarily in the fields of biochemistry and molecular biology. It is defined as one twelfth of the mass of a carbon-12 atom in its ground state, which is approximately equal to \(1.66053906660 \times 10^{-27}\) kilograms.
