Frank P. Ramsey (1903–1930) was a British mathematician, philosopher, and economist known for his contributions to various fields, including mathematics, logic, and decision theory. Despite his short life, he made significant advancements in several areas: 1. **Mathematics**: Ramsey is best known for his work in combinatorial mathematics. The Ramsey theory, which deals with conditions under which a certain order must appear in structures, is named after him.
As of my last knowledge update in October 2023, there isn't widely recognized or notable information about an individual named Felix Behrend. If he is a fictional character, an emerging figure, or related to a niche topic, I may not have information on that.
Eugène Charles Catalan (1814–1894) was a Belgian mathematician and physicist known for his contributions to number theory, combinatorics, and the study of algebraic structures. He is particularly renowned for Catalan's conjecture (now known as Mihăilescu's theorem), which states that the only two consecutive perfect powers of natural numbers are \(8\) and \(9\) (i.e.
As of my last knowledge update in October 2023, Eugenia O'Reilly-Regueiro does not appear to be a widely recognized public figure, historical figure, or concept in mainstream discourse. It's possible that she is a private individual or a name that has come into prominence after my training cutoff.
Ernst G. Straus (1920–2007) was a notable mathematician and physicist, known primarily for his work in the fields of mathematics and its applications to physics. He made contributions to a variety of areas, including topology, geometry, and the foundations of mathematics. Straus was also associated with the concept of the "Straus conjecture," which relates to the properties of certain mathematical structures.
Eric Temple Bell (1883–1960) was a Scottish-born mathematician, mathematician, and science fiction writer who made significant contributions to mathematics and its popularization. He is perhaps best known for his work in the fields of number theory, analysis, and the theory of functions. In addition to his academic work, Bell was a prolific writer and authored numerous books aimed at a general audience, making complex mathematical concepts accessible to non-specialists.
As of my last knowledge update in October 2021, Eric M. Rains could refer to various individuals, but there is not a widely recognized figure by that name in public discourse, literature, science, or other notable fields. If you could provide more context or specify who you are referring to, I may be able to assist you better. There might also be developments or new individuals named Eric M. Rains after my last update. Please check the latest sources for the most current information.
Emanuel Sperner was a German mathematician known primarily for his contributions to combinatorial mathematics, particularly in the fields of topology and set theory. Born on March 23, 1905, he developed several important concepts, including Sperner's theorem, which addresses the largest family of subsets of a finite set that can be chosen so that no one set is contained within another. His work has had a significant impact on both combinatorics and other areas of mathematics.
Egon Schulte is a mathematician known for his work in various areas of mathematics, particularly in combinatorics and geometry. He has contributed to topics such as hyperbolic geometry, group theory, and the study of geometric structures. Schulte has also been involved in mathematical education and has published a number of research papers and articles in the mathematical community.
E. T. Parker refers to a financial services company known for providing investment management, capital markets, and financial advisory services. However, if you're looking for information about a specific aspect of E. T.
As of my last knowledge update in October 2021, there isn't widely recognized information about a person named Déborah Oliveros. It is possible that she could be a public figure who has gained recognition after that date, or she may not be widely known.
Douglas Woodall is not a widely recognized figure in popular culture, history, or significant current events as of my last knowledge update in October 2023. There may be individuals with that name in various fields, such as academia or business, but without more specific context, it is difficult to provide accurate information.
Doron Zeilberger is an influential mathematician known for his work in combinatorics, particularly in areas like enumeration and algebraic combinatorics. He is also recognized for his contributions to areas such as computer algebra and mathematical software. Zeilberger has developed several algorithms and tools for symbolic computation, particularly related to hypergeometric series and generating functions.
Dominique Foata is a French mathematician known for his contributions to combinatorial mathematics and particularly to the field of combinatorial theory and enumeration. He has worked on various topics, including generating functions, combinatorial identities, and applications of combinatorics in other areas of mathematics. Foata is also recognized for his work on permutations and their properties.
As of my last update in October 2023, there is no widely known person, concept, or entity specifically called "Dominic Welsh." It's possible that you could be referring to a private individual, an emerging public figure, or perhaps a misspelling or variation of a name.
Dmitry Feichtner-Kozlov is not widely recognized in popular literature or media up to my last update in October 2023. It's possible he might be a private individual, a professional in a specific field, or a fictional character.
David P. Robbins could refer to different individuals or topics, as there may be multiple people with that name. Without additional context, it is difficult to provide specific information. If you are referring to a well-known figure in a particular field like academia, literature, politics, or another area, please provide more details. Alternatively, you can specify if you are looking for information on a specific work or topic associated with someone named David P. Robbins.
David G. Cantor may refer to various individuals or concepts, but without specific context, it's challenging to provide a precise answer. If you're referring to a particular David G.
David Conlon may refer to multiple individuals, as it is not an uncommon name. However, one notable figure by that name is a mathematician known for his work in combinatorics and related areas. He has made significant contributions to various problems in mathematics, particularly in the field of Ramsey theory.

Pinned article: Introduction to the OurBigBook Project

Welcome to the OurBigBook Project! Our goal is to create the perfect publishing platform for STEM subjects, and get university-level students to write the best free STEM tutorials ever.
Everyone is welcome to create an account and play with the site: ourbigbook.com/go/register. We belive that students themselves can write amazing tutorials, but teachers are welcome too. You can write about anything you want, it doesn't have to be STEM or even educational. Silly test content is very welcome and you won't be penalized in any way. Just keep it legal!
We have two killer features:
  1. topics: topics group articles by different users with the same title, e.g. here is the topic for the "Fundamental Theorem of Calculus" ourbigbook.com/go/topic/fundamental-theorem-of-calculus
Articles of different users are sorted by upvote within each article page. This feature is a bit like:
    • a Wikipedia where each user can have their own version of each article
    • a Q&A website like Stack Overflow, where multiple people can give their views on a given topic, and the best ones are sorted by upvote. Except you don't need to wait for someone to ask first, and any topic goes, no matter how narrow or broad
This feature makes it possible for readers to find better explanations of any topic created by other writers. And it allows writers to create an explanation in a place that readers might actually find it.

  2. local editing: you can store all your personal knowledge base content locally in a plaintext markup format that can be edited locally and published either:
This way you can be sure that even if OurBigBook.com were to go down one day (which we have no plans to do as it is quite cheap to host!), your content will still be perfectly readable as a static site.
