 Exponential map of a Lie group

For a matrix Lie group, the exponential map is the matrix exponential $\exp X={\sum }_{n\ge 0}{X}^n/n!$ and sends one-parameter additive subgroups of the Lie algebra to one-parameter subgroups of the group.
