Bottom-quark tagging identifies jets compatible with a bottom hadron, often through displaced tracks, a secondary decay vertex or a lepton within the jet. The finite hadron lifetime gives the displacement. Efficiencies and mistaken tags from charm or light jets must be calibrated; a top quark itself decays before hadronization.
