For nonconserved order-parameter dynamics, the positive kinetic coefficient Γ converts the functional derivative of the free energy into a relaxation rate through p˙=−ΓδF/δp. Microscopic reversibility fixes the accompanying Gaussian white noise variance by the Model A fluctuation-dissipation relation.
