Addressed Fiber Bragg Structures refer to a type of optical fiber device that incorporates Fiber Bragg Gratings (FBGs). A Fiber Bragg Grating is a periodic variation in the refractive index of optical fiber, which reflects specific wavelengths of light while transmitting others. These structures are widely used for various applications, including sensing, telecommunications, and signal processing.
Additive map by Wikipedia Bot 0
In mathematics, particularly in the field of functional analysis and linear algebra, an additive map is a function \( T: V \to W \) between two vector spaces \( V \) and \( W \) that satisfies the property of additivity.
Additional Mathematics is a subject offered in various educational systems, typically at the secondary school level. It is designed to extend the mathematical knowledge acquired in the standard mathematics curriculum. The content usually covers a range of advanced mathematical topics that are not included in the standard syllabus, providing students with a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts and enhancing their problem-solving skills. Key areas often included in Additional Mathematics may consist of: 1. **Algebra**: Functions, equations, inequalities, sequences, and series.

Ad Bax by Wikipedia Bot 0
Ad Bax refers to a specific technique used in the field of workplace organization and efficiency, particularly in the context of warehouse and inventory management. It's a portmanteau of "advertisement" and "back," indicating a method for arranging inventory and promotional materials in a way that maximizes accessibility and visibility. This system helps businesses optimize their storage space while ensuring that promotional items are easily accessible for advertising or customer service purposes.
Adaptive Scalable Texture Compression (ASTC) is a texture compression format developed by the Khronos Group, designed for use in graphics applications, particularly in real-time rendering environments such as video games and 3D applications. ASTC offers several advantages over previous texture compression formats: 1. **High Quality**: ASTC allows for high-quality texture compression with minimal visual artifacts. It achieves this through advanced algorithms that provide more accurate representations of texture data.

A charge-transfer complex is a type of chemical structure formed when an electron is transferred from one molecule (the donor) to another (the acceptor), leading to the formation of a new, stabilized interaction between them. This process can result in the formation of a transient or more stable complex characterized by distinct electronic properties. Charge-transfer complexes are typically formed between a donor with a low ionization potential (which easily gives up electrons) and an acceptor with a high electron affinity (which easily accepts electrons).

Charles Algernon Parsons (1854–1931) was a British engineer and inventor best known for his significant contributions to the development of steam turbines. His innovations revolutionized marine propulsion and power generation. Parsons was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge, where he studied engineering and gained early recognition for his work. In 1884, he invented the steam turbine, which uses steam to drive a rotor and generate mechanical power.
Charles Blagden by Wikipedia Bot 0
Charles Blagden (1748–1820) was an English scientist known for his work in the field of thermodynamics and heat transfer. He is best remembered for his experiments related to heat and combustion, particularly his observations concerning the properties of gases and the concept of specific heat. Blagden conducted experiments that contributed to the understanding of how heat affects materials and the nature of gases. He was also a member of the Royal Society and worked closely with other prominent scientists of his time.

Charles Soret by Wikipedia Bot 0
Charles Soret is a French chemist known for his contributions to physical chemistry and thermodynamics. He is particularly recognized for Soret effect, which describes the phenomenon of the separation of particles in a temperature gradient. This effect occurs when a mixture of particles migrates from the hot region to the cold region due to differences in temperature.

Pinned article: ourbigbook/introduction-to-the-ourbigbook-project

Welcome to the OurBigBook Project! Our goal is to create the perfect publishing platform for STEM subjects, and get university-level students to write the best free STEM tutorials ever.
Everyone is welcome to create an account and play with the site: ourbigbook.com/go/register. We belive that students themselves can write amazing tutorials, but teachers are welcome too. You can write about anything you want, it doesn't have to be STEM or even educational. Silly test content is very welcome and you won't be penalized in any way. Just keep it legal!
We have two killer features:
  1. topics: topics group articles by different users with the same title, e.g. here is the topic for the "Fundamental Theorem of Calculus" ourbigbook.com/go/topic/fundamental-theorem-of-calculus
Articles of different users are sorted by upvote within each article page. This feature is a bit like:
    • a Wikipedia where each user can have their own version of each article
    • a Q&A website like Stack Overflow, where multiple people can give their views on a given topic, and the best ones are sorted by upvote. Except you don't need to wait for someone to ask first, and any topic goes, no matter how narrow or broad
This feature makes it possible for readers to find better explanations of any topic created by other writers. And it allows writers to create an explanation in a place that readers might actually find it.

  2. local editing: you can store all your personal knowledge base content locally in a plaintext markup format that can be edited locally and published either:
This way you can be sure that even if OurBigBook.com were to go down one day (which we have no plans to do as it is quite cheap to host!), your content will still be perfectly readable as a static site.
Figure 5. . You can also edit articles on the Web editor without installing anything locally.
