The complexification of a Lie algebra is $\mathfrak{su}(2{)}_{\mathbb{C}}=\mathfrak{su}(2){\otimes }_{\mathbb{R}}\mathbb{C}\cong {\mathfrak{sl}}_2(\mathbb{C})$.
