Independent censoring means that, conditional on the variables used in the analysis, the censoring time carries no further information about the eventtime. It lets the observed risk set represent those who would remain at risk without censoring.
Administrative censoring ends follow-up at a fixed study or data-cutoff date. It is independently censoring when that cutoff and the resulting follow-up duration are unrelated to prognosis after conditioning on modeled variables.
