Arthur Francis O'Donel Alexander, often referred to simply as A.F.O. Alexander, was an influential figure in the field of physical education and an educator. He is best known for developing the Alexander Technique, a method focused on improving posture, movement, and overall bodily awareness. The technique is designed to help individuals identify and change habits of movement that can lead to tension and discomfort. It has applications in various areas, including performance arts, rehabilitation, and personal well-being.
Keep the example/theory ratio high, very, very high.
Arthur Iberall was an American scientist and researcher known for his interdisciplinary work involving physics, mathematics, and systems theory. He is particularly noted for his contributions to the fields of chaos theory and complex systems. Iberall was also associated with the development of models to describe human behavior and societal dynamics. His work often emphasized the interconnectedness of different scientific domains and sought to apply rigorous scientific principles to understand complex phenomena.
As of my last knowledge update in October 2023, it appears "Arthur Kerman" may not refer to a widely recognized public figure, concept, or term in popular culture, history, or other domains. It's possible that it could be a name of a private individual, a character in a lesser-known work, or a niche subject that has emerged recently.
Ciro Santilli has become slightly obsessed with this story, and the main mastermind Ross Ulbricht.
The best article available so far is: www.theregister.co.uk/2019/01/29/how_i_caught_silk_road_mastermind (archive) which summarizes what one of the investigators said in a 2019 French computer security conference.
The key living posts are:
- stackoverflow.com/questions/15445285/how-can-i-connect-to-a-tor-hidden-service-using-curl-in-php (archive) which was originally asked under the real name, and then the username was changed to "Frosty", which matches one of the server's logins after the laptop was captured
- altoid early Silk Road mention: bitcointalk.org/?topic=175.70;wap2 (archive)
The big question is of course how libertarian free market ideologically motivated the website was, and how purely criminal greed it was.
The magnitude of the early operational security mistakes does make Ciro think that Ross did it "because he could" and "for the lolz" in a real world Breaking Bad way.
The entry in Ross' diary does resonate a lot with Ciro and any entrepreneur, full diary at: www.wired.com/2015/01/heres-secret-silk-road-journal-laptop-ross-ulbricht/ (archive).
[i]n 2011," [I believe I will be] "creating a year of prosperity and power beyond what I have ever experienced before,Silk Road is going to become a phenomenon and at least one person will tell me about it, unknowing that I was its creator."
Having this kind of feeling, is the greatest thing any human can have, and what motivates all great things.
Capitalizing in illegal things though is a cheat, big things take longer than a few years to reach, but reaching them is that much more satisfying as well.
Other interesting quotes:which Ciro also feels, see don't be a pussy, and:
Everyone knows I am working on a bitcoin exchange. I always thought honesty was the best policy and now I didn't know what to do. I should have just told everyone I am a freelance programmer or something, but I had to tell half truths. It felt wrong to lie completely so I tried to tell the truth without revealing the bad part, but now I am in a jam. Everyone knows too much. Dammit.
Also very worth reading is the San Francisco flat mate account: www.vice.com/en_us/article/ae3q8g/my-roommate-the-darknet-drug-lord (archive).
The murder for hire allegations are also interesting: mashable.com/2013/10/03/silk-road-hits, he paid 80k dollars to undercover DEA agents!
Except for the fact that Ross was an 80 million Dollar drug lord, those accounts sound exactly like what you would expect from any other nerdy startup founder! The:
- "just do it" strategy effectively going to a minimal viable product (manual transaction management!), while making many mistakes along the way, including hiring mistakes and successes when scaling is needed
- the hardship of self bootstrapping your own social network (here with some kilos of mushrooms)
- the variety of periods, from relatively calm, to hair pulling stress during big changes
It is also amusing to see very concretely the obvious fact that the FBI can get a subpoena for all accounts you ever had, e.g. they knew his laptop model from Amazon and brought a corresponding power cable to the arrest! If you are going to be a cyber criminal, don't use your real name, ever!
Should justice be blind? Maybe. But it does hurt for mere non-blind men to see it sometimes. Especially when drug liberalization is involved.
Arthur Morin is a name that may refer to various individuals or contexts, but without additional details, it is difficult to determine exactly which Arthur Morin you are referring to. There are several notable figures with that name across different fields, including academia, arts, or other professions. If you can provide more context or specify the area of interest (such as literature, science, public figures, etc.
Gaussian Quantum Monte Carlo (GQMC) is a computational technique used to perform quantum simulations, particularly of many-body quantum systems. It blends principles from quantum mechanics and Monte Carlo methods, with a focus on leveraging Gaussian states and distributions to simplify calculations or enhance efficiency. ### Key Aspects of Gaussian Quantum Monte Carlo: 1. **Quantum States**: GQMC typically works within the framework of Gaussian states, which are quantum states characterized by their first and second moments (mean and covariance).
Arthur W. Conway might refer to various individuals, but one prominent figure associated with that name is an influential educator and psychologist known for his work in the field of educational psychology. If you need information on a specific Arthur W. Conway or have a particular context in mind (such as a field of study or notable achievements), please provide additional details!
Artificial ecosystems are human-made environments that mimic natural ecosystems in order to support life and maintain ecological processes. These environments can be created for various purposes, including scientific research, agriculture, conservation, education, and recreation. Some examples of artificial ecosystems include: 1. **Aquariums**: Controlled aquatic environments that simulate natural habitats for fish and other marine organisms.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) refers to the simulation of human intelligence processes by machines, particularly computer systems. These processes include learning (the acquisition of information and rules for using it), reasoning (using rules to reach approximate or definite conclusions), and self-correction. AI can be categorized into different types and subfields: 1. **Narrow AI (Weak AI)**: This form of AI is designed and trained for a specific task, such as facial recognition, language translation, or playing chess.
In physics, "mixing" generally refers to the process of combining different substances or states of matter to form a homogeneous mixture, where the individual components are uniformly distributed. This concept can be considered in various contexts, including: 1. **Fluid Mixing**: In fluid dynamics, mixing describes how fluids (liquids or gases) intermix due to turbulence, diffusion, and other forces.
Artificial life in fiction refers to the portrayal of life forms that are created or simulated by artificial means, often exploring concepts related to consciousness, identity, and the nature of existence. These fictional representations frequently raise philosophical questions about what it means to be "alive" and the ethical implications of creating life. Some key themes and examples of artificial life in fiction include: 1. **Androids and Robots**: Stories often feature humanoid robots or androids that exhibit human-like behaviors, emotions, and consciousness.
Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) are computational models inspired by the way biological neural networks in the human brain operate. They consist of interconnected groups of artificial neurons, where each neuron acts as a processing unit that takes in input, applies a transformation, and produces an output. Here are the key components and concepts related to ANNs: ### Key Components 1. **Neurons**: The basic processing units in an ANN, analogous to biological neurons.
Artillery components refer to the various parts and systems that make up artillery weapons, which are primarily used to deliver firepower at long ranges. These components can vary depending on the type of artillery being discussed, including howitzers, field guns, mortars, and rocket systems. Here are some key components commonly associated with artillery: 1. **Barrel**: The long tube through which the projectile is fired.
Artin algebras are a class of associative algebras that have several important properties in representation theory and algebra. Specifically, an Artin algebra is defined as a finite-dimensional algebra over a field that satisfies certain conditions. Here are some key features of Artin algebras: 1. **Finite Length**: An Artin algebra has the property that as a module over itself, it has finite length. This means that it has a composition series with a finite number of simple submodules.
In number theory, Gauss's lemma is a result that relates to the quadratic residues modulo a prime. Specifically, it provides a criterion for determining whether a given integer is a quadratic residue modulo a prime number. The statement of Gauss's lemma can be formalized as follows: Let \( p \) be an odd prime, and let \( a \) be an integer that is not divisible by \( p \).
Arturo Salazar Valencia does not appear to be a widely recognized public figure or concept as of my last knowledge update in October 2023. It is possible that he could be a local personality, artist, academic, or professional in a specific field, but without more context, I am unable to provide specific information about him.
An artillery person, often referred to as an artillery soldier or gunner, is a military service member responsible for operating and managing artillery weapons systems. These systems include cannons, howitzers, rocket launchers, and missile systems, which are used to provide indirect fire support to ground troops. Artillery personnel are trained in various aspects, such as: 1. **Target Identification**: They assess targets for engagement, which includes determining the range and type of munitions to use.

Intro to OurBigBook
. Source. We have two killer features:
- topics: topics group articles by different users with the same title, e.g. here is the topic for the "Fundamental Theorem of Calculus" ourbigbook.com/go/topic/fundamental-theorem-of-calculusArticles of different users are sorted by upvote within each article page. This feature is a bit like:
- a Wikipedia where each user can have their own version of each article
- a Q&A website like Stack Overflow, where multiple people can give their views on a given topic, and the best ones are sorted by upvote. Except you don't need to wait for someone to ask first, and any topic goes, no matter how narrow or broad
This feature makes it possible for readers to find better explanations of any topic created by other writers. And it allows writers to create an explanation in a place that readers might actually find it.Figure 1. Screenshot of the "Derivative" topic page.
