The term "Eric Webb" could refer to a specific individual, as it's a common name, but without additional context, it's difficult to pinpoint exactly who you might be referring to. If you're looking for information about a particular Eric Webb, please provide more details, such as their profession, accomplishments, or any specific context related to them.
Edward Sabine (1788–1883) was a British astronomer and geophysicist known for his significant contributions to the fields of magnetism and the study of Earth's magnetic field. He played a prominent role in various scientific expeditions and made important observations regarding the Earth's magnetic properties. Sabine is particularly noted for his work on magnetic surveys and his efforts to establish the relationship between magnetic declination, inclination, and the Earth's magnetic intensity at different locations.
As of my last knowledge update in October 2021, "Bob Bage" does not refer to a widely recognized term, person, or concept. It's possible that it could be a name, a specific individual's nickname, or something that has gained prominence after that date.
Alexander Neckam (c. 1157–1217) was an English scholar and theologian, known for his contributions to philosophy, education, and the natural sciences during the medieval period. He was born in London and later became a prominent figure associated with the University of Paris. Neckam is noted for his work in various fields, particularly in the realm of natural philosophy and for being one of the early thinkers who attempted to reconcile faith and reason.
The term "magnetic photon" is not a standard term in physics, but it might be used in a couple of contexts that relate to electromagnetic theory. Here are a few possibilities for what someone might mean by "magnetic photon": 1. **Photon in Electromagnetic Context**: Photons are the fundamental particles of light and are responsible for electromagnetic radiation. They are vector bosons that carry electromagnetic force.
A Dyon is a theoretical concept in physics, particularly in the field of quantum field theory and string theory. It can be considered a generalization of a monopole—specifically, a magnetic monopole that also carries electric charge. In more detail, dyons are hypothetical particles that possess both electric and magnetic charges.
The term "dual photon" can refer to a few different concepts depending on the context in which it's used. Here are some possible interpretations: 1. **In Particle Physics**: "Dual photon" might refer to interactions or phenomena involving two photons, such as in the context of quantum electrodynamics (QED) or in experimental setups where photon-photon interactions are studied.
The Dirac string is a theoretical concept introduced by physicist Paul Dirac in the context of magnetic monopoles. Magnetic monopoles are hypothetical particles that possess a net magnetic charge, in contrast to the magnetic dipoles (like ordinary magnets) that have both a north and a south pole. In quantum field theory, Dirac showed that the existence of magnetic monopoles implies the need for a specific structure in the theory.
The 't Hooft–Polyakov monopole is a theoretical solution in the context of gauge theories, specifically in the study of magnetic monopoles within non-Abelian gauge theories. It was independently discovered by Gerard 't Hooft and Alexander Polyakov in the 1970s.
The 't Hooft loop is a concept from theoretical physics, particularly in the context of gauge theories, including quantum field theories and string theories. It is named after the physicist Gerard 't Hooft, who made significant contributions to our understanding of gauge theories. In a gauge theory, the 't Hooft loop is an operator that creates a magnetic monopole-like configuration or represents the dual description of certain non-abelian gauge theories.
A weight machine, commonly referred to as a weight training machine or strength training machine, is a piece of equipment used for exercising and building muscle strength. These machines typically use stacks of weights, pulleys, and levers to provide resistance for various exercises. They target specific muscle groups and often allow users to adjust the amount of weight being lifted. Weight machines are commonly found in gyms and fitness centers and are designed to provide safety and support for users, especially for beginners.
A "useless machine" is a simple device or contraption that serves no practical purpose other than to perform a single, often humorous action when activated. The most common form of the useless machine is a box with a toggle switch on top. When a user flips the switch to the "on" position, a mechanical arm inside the box emerges and promptly flips the switch back to the "off" position, effectively negating the user's action.
A tunnel washer is a type of industrial washing machine used primarily for cleaning textiles, such as towels, linens, and garments, in large-scale laundry operations. The design of a tunnel washer allows for a continuous, efficient washing process, where items move through a series of compartments or stages, each with specific functions for washing, rinsing, and drying.
A tunnel finisher is a type of machinery or equipment commonly used in the construction and manufacturing industries, particularly for finishing processes in tunneling projects. It is typically designed to apply final coatings, smooth surfaces, or prepare tunnel walls for further construction activities, such as installation of utilities or final lining. In tunneling operations, the tunnel finisher might perform functions such as: 1. **Surface preparation**: Cleaning and smoothing the tunnel surface to ensure that it is suitable for further work.
A tortilla machine is a piece of equipment designed to automate the process of making tortillas, a staple food in many cultures, particularly in Mexican cuisine. These machines can vary in size and complexity, ranging from small, manual devices for home use to large, fully automated industrial machines used in commercial production. The primary functions of a tortilla machine typically include: 1. **Mixing**: Combining the masa (dough) ingredients, which usually consist of cornmeal or flour and water.
A tablet press is a piece of machinery used in the pharmaceutical industry and other sectors to compress powder into tablets. This process, known as tablet compression or tableting, involves applying high pressure to a mixture of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and excipients (inactive ingredients that aid in the manufacturing process and improve the tablet's performance) to form solid tablets.
Surplus Record Machinery & Equipment Directory is a publication and online marketplace that specializes in the buying and selling of surplus, used, and new machinery and industrial equipment. It serves a vast array of industries, including manufacturing, construction, and heavy equipment. The directory provides listings of machinery for sale, including details such as specifications, prices, and contact information for sellers. It is a valuable resource for businesses looking to acquire equipment at reduced costs or looking to sell excess machinery they no longer need.
A strand jack is a mechanical device used for lifting heavy loads, often in construction, engineering, and maintenance applications. It uses a series of high-strength steel cables (strands) to lift and lower objects, providing a controlled and efficient means to handle large structures such as bridges, oil rigs, and heavy machinery. The strand jack operates by employing hydraulic or mechanical tensioning systems to pull the strands through a series of jacks, allowing for precise control over the movement of the load.

Pinned article: Introduction to the OurBigBook Project

Welcome to the OurBigBook Project! Our goal is to create the perfect publishing platform for STEM subjects, and get university-level students to write the best free STEM tutorials ever.
Everyone is welcome to create an account and play with the site: ourbigbook.com/go/register. We belive that students themselves can write amazing tutorials, but teachers are welcome too. You can write about anything you want, it doesn't have to be STEM or even educational. Silly test content is very welcome and you won't be penalized in any way. Just keep it legal!
We have two killer features:
  1. topics: topics group articles by different users with the same title, e.g. here is the topic for the "Fundamental Theorem of Calculus" ourbigbook.com/go/topic/fundamental-theorem-of-calculus
Articles of different users are sorted by upvote within each article page. This feature is a bit like:
    • a Wikipedia where each user can have their own version of each article
    • a Q&A website like Stack Overflow, where multiple people can give their views on a given topic, and the best ones are sorted by upvote. Except you don't need to wait for someone to ask first, and any topic goes, no matter how narrow or broad
This feature makes it possible for readers to find better explanations of any topic created by other writers. And it allows writers to create an explanation in a place that readers might actually find it.

  2. local editing: you can store all your personal knowledge base content locally in a plaintext markup format that can be edited locally and published either:
This way you can be sure that even if OurBigBook.com were to go down one day (which we have no plans to do as it is quite cheap to host!), your content will still be perfectly readable as a static site.
Figure 5. . You can also edit articles on the Web editor without installing anything locally.
